About

Marie Reed is an arts-focused public elementary school located in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, DC. Marie Reed offers both English Only and Dual Language (English-Spanish) programs for students in grades PK3 through 5. Learn more about each curriculum and approach under the Academics section of the website.

At Marie Reed, our students will have enhanced opportunities to experience the arts through partnerships with the Discovery Theatre, Washington Performing Arts, and the DC Arts and Humanities Collaborative, including:

  • Field trips to performances
  • In-house performances
  • In-house enrichment opportunities through two amazing new teachers of music (Ms. Granobles) and art (Ms. Monfrini) and new facilities for each
  • DC Keys – a DCPS/Washington Performing Arts program providing piano lessons to 25,000 students city-wide, including at Marie Reed

Marie Reed is also a Title 1 school, meaning that at least 40% of Marie Reed students qualify for free or reduced cost meals. As such, the school receives additional federal funding to help ensure that all children meet challenging academic standards. This funding provides all students free breakfast and lunch, significantly subsidized after-school programming, and increased focus on family engagement.
