Per DCPS policy, DCPS volunteers, including parents, must be complete a clearance process before they can volunteer.
The process has 4 steps:
Obtain a written negative tuberculosis (TB) test dated within 1 year. Note that this is often given as a 2-part test with a reading 24-hours after an injection, so please plan accordingly.
Complete an application online or in-person. Unfortunately the application is not available in Spanish at this time. Fill in Phallon Lattimore, (202) 673-7308, firstname.lastname@example.org as the Point of Contact for Marie Reed.
Make a copy of your ID.
Finally, after 1-3 are completed, the 4th step is to be fingerprinted at the DCPS main office located at 1200 First Street NE during normal business hours. Once you obtain a written clearance letter 3-10 days after fingerprinting, and have provided a copy to the front office at Marie Reed, you will be cleared to volunteer.
